Jon Alan Barry (born July 25, 1969 in Oakland ) is a retired American basketball player .

career

Barry played at DeLaSalle High School in Danville (US state of California ) until 1987 , then at the University of the Pacific (1987/88), then at Paris Junior College in Texas (1989/90) and at the Georgia Institute of Technology ( 1990 to 1992). In his two seasons with Georgia Tech, Barry scored a total of 1080 points, drew attention as a three-shooter and passer.

The Boston Celtics secured in the draft procedure of the NBA in 1992 the rights to the 1.93 meter tall player who was called in the first selection round in a total of 21st place.

Without having played a game for Boston, Barry was given to the Milwaukee Bucks in early December 1992 . He stayed in Milwaukee until 1995 and played 171 games on the field, more than any other NBA team he later played for. Barry has also been signed to the Golden State Warriors , Atlanta Hawks , Los Angeles Lakers , Sacramento Kings , Detroit Pistons , Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets throughout his career  . Barry achieved his best point value in a season in 2001/02 as a member of the Detroit Pistons when he scored nine points per game. His highest point yield in a game he reached on November 23, 2001 in the game against Atlanta, when he hit five three-point throws for Detroit and brought it to a total of 25 points.

Following his playing career, Barry worked as a commentator and expert on basketball broadcasts on radio and television .

Barry is the son of Rick Barry and the brother of Scooter Barry , Brent Barry  and Drew Barry .
