Pacific Division (NBA)

The Pacific Division is one of three divisions of the Western Conference in the North American Basketball -Profiliga National Basketball Association (NBA). All teams in the league are divided into two conferences, east and west, which in turn are divided into three divisions.

The division into divisions is based on the geographical location of the teams. In the Pacific Division , the teams that are located near the west coast of the United States , i.e. near the Pacific, play . The Pacific Division has existed since 1970. In 2004, the division structure of the NBA was reformed - four became six divisions, which meant that the Pacific Division was reduced from seven to five teams; the Portland Trail Blazers and the Seattle SuperSonics were incorporated into the newly formed Northwest Division .
