Elvir Rahimić (born April 4, 1976 in Živinice , SR Bosnia and Herzegovina , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Bosnian-Herzegovinian football player .

He played in his youth in Bosnia with FK Živinice , where he was coached by his father. His talent was quickly recognized and he switched to NK Bosna Visoko . After only one year he moved to Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia. He played there for three years and then moved to the Russian army club CSKA Moscow in 2002, where he won several Russian championships and cup victories .

Elvir Rahimić plays with a lot of physical effort. In the Channel One Cups game against Hapoel Tel Aviv in January 2007, he inflicted a double fracture in his ankle joint in the third minute of the game against his Chilean opponent Manuel Neira . In his entire career as an active player, he has received 72 yellow cards, but only one red (as of March 2008). That is why he is also called "Schelesny" (Russian for: iron) among the fans.

On June 2, 2007 Elvir Rahimić played for the first time for his home country Bosnia-Herzegovina . In the European Championship qualifier against Turkey (3-2), Bosnia defeated the favorites in an emotionally charged duel and Rahimić was one of the most important performers in this game.
