Terry William Rozier III (born March 17, 1994 in Youngstown , Ohio ) is an American basketball player who currently plays for the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA .

Career

Rozier played two years for the University of Louisville under Rick Pitino before he was selected in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics in 16th place. The rookie year was not particularly good for Rozier and he was often seconded to the Maine Red Claws in the D-League . From the second season he saw more appearances for the Celtics, before he celebrated his breakthrough at the Celtics in his third season with 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists as a backup for Kyrie Irving . On January 31, 2018, Rozier, in his first game as a starter against the New York Knicks , scored a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists . He is only the second player in NBA history after Tony Wroten to score a triple-double on his debut as a starter.

In the summer of 2019, Rozier joined the Charlotte Hornets as part of a sign-and-trade deal for Kemba Walker .
