Carl Müller-Rastatt (* July 29, 1861 as Carl Theodor Gustav Hermann Müller in Rastatt ; † November 13, 1931 in Hamburg ) was a German writer and editor. He was best known in Hamburg as a literary critic and head of the feature pages of the Hamburg Correspondents .

Life

Carl Müller-Rastatt received his doctorate in Göttingen as Dr. phil. and worked for the Hamburg Correspondent from 1905, of which he later headed the feature section. He was friends with the poets Gustav Falke and Otto Ernst .

Act

In addition to short stories, Carl Müller-Rastatt also wrote dramas and operas. Under him, the feature section of the Hamburg Correspondent became one of the most important press organs for art and culture reporting in Hamburg in the 1920s. With lectures in the Literary Society Hamburg, Müller-Rastatt also turned to young or as yet unknown authors and was thus early a sponsor of Hermann Krieger and Emil Sandt, for example . From April 1930 until his death he worked as a literary reviewer for the Hamburg Senate Commission for Art Preservation, and was also appointed to the panel of judges for the Lessing Prize of the City of Hamburg, which was first awarded in 1930.
