Cody Allen Zeller (born October 5, 1992 in Washington , Indiana ) is an American basketball player .

college

Zeller played for Indiana University for two years . It was there that he developed into one of the country's greatest talents and was named Freshman of the Year at the Big Ten Conference in his first year . In the 2012 NBA draft , Zeller was considered a top talent, but preferred to stay at college for another year. He finished his sophomore year as the third best scorer in his conference (16.8 points per game) and the second best rebounder (8.2 rebounds per game). At the end of the season he signed up for the NBA draft .

NBA

In the 2013 NBA draft , Zeller was selected in 4th place by the Charlotte Hornets , formerly Bobcats. In his first year he was called up to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team .

Zeller comes from a basketball family. His uncle Al Eberhard played for the Detroit Pistons in the 1970s . His brothers also play in the NBA. Tyler Zeller currently plays for the Boston Celtics , Luke Zeller most recently played for the Phoenix Suns .
