Josh Hart (born March 6, 1995 in Silver Spring , Maryland ) is an American basketball player . He plays in the position of the shooting guard .

High school and college

Hart is the great-nephew of baseball player Elston Howard and attended Sidwell Friends School in Bethesda , Maryland , Maryland and Washington, DC As a senior, he scored 24.3 points per game and also grabbed 13.4 rebounds. Then he decided to play for the Wildcats of Villanova University . He spent all four years in college and eventually signed up for the 2017 NBA draft . Hart was a big part of the team that won the NCAA championship in the 2015/16 season .

NBA

On June 22, 2017, Hart was selected by the Utah Jazz Draft. Together with the 42nd pick of the draft , Thomas Bryant , he was traded shortly afterwards to the Los Angeles Lakers , who got the 28th pick of the Lakers, Tony Bradley , in exchange . On July 3, Hart signed a rookie deal with the Californians. In his first game in the starting five on December 14, 2017, he achieved a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds . In his last season against the Los Angeles Clippers , he scored 30 points and sank seven of nine threesomes. He finished the season with an average of 7.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. He ended his second season 2018/19 with an average of 7.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

As part of the Anthony Davis trade, Josh Hart joined the New Orleans Pelicans with his teammates Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram .
