Lonzo Anderson Ball (born October 27, 1997 in Anaheim , California ) is an American basketball player who currently plays for the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA .
career
High school and college
Ball played basketball at Chino Hills High School in California and became one of the greatest talents of his year in the United States . In his final high school season he was named the best player of the year several times, including the honors as "Naismith High School Player of the Year", "Morgan Wootten Player of the Year" and "Gatorade State Player of the." Year ”.
During his first and only year of play in the NCAA , he ran for the team at the University of California, Los Angeles , UCLA for short, and drew attention to himself as the third best scorer on his team during the 2016/17 season. He posted an average of 14.6 points in 36 missions and was also responsible for 7.6 assists per game , which was the best value in the entire first division of the NCAA. Ball was selected as the second player overall in the first round by the Los Angeles Lakers . In his first season for the LA Lakers, he became the youngest player to achieve a triple-double . Previously, LeBron James was the record holder. Ball was elected to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team at the end of the 2017/18 season after averaging 10.2 points, 7.2 assists and 6.9 rebounds per encounter in his first NBA game year.
In the 2018/19 season he played alongside LeBron James, who moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 2018. Likewise, the former all-star Rajon Rondo was signed , the ball was placed as an experienced player aside. Ball injured his ankle against the Houston Rockets on January 19, 2019 . After a re-examination two weeks later, showing no major improvement, the Lakers announced that Ball would be out for the remainder of the season.
After the end of the season, the Lakers swapped ball and other players for Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans . Ball has therefore been playing in New Orleans since the 2019/20 season .

Lonzo Ball is one of the protagonists of the reality TV series Ball in the Family , along with his father, the former American football player LaVar Ball , and his brothers LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball .
