Assist (basketball)

In basketball, an assist is a pass to a player who hits the basket directly afterwards. Assists are most commonly performed by point guards as they build the game.

In the game statistics, the assist is assigned to the passer. What exactly is counted as an assist can, however, differ depending on the competition. The player with the most assists in the NBA is John Stockton , who posted 15,806 assists for the Utah Jazz in 19 years . Magic Johnson, on the other hand, gave the Los Angeles Lakers the most assists per game with odds of 11.2 in 13 seasons . Stockton's quota is 10.5 assists per game.
