Pedro Sergio de Jesús Mena Díaz (born May 4, 1955 in Colonia Yucatán , Yucatán ) is a Mexican Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Yucatán .

Life

Pedro Sergio de Jesús Mena Díaz first studied architecture at the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán and then entered the seminary in Mérida . He received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Yucatán on October 7, 1986 through Archbishop Manuel Castro Ruiz .

In addition to various tasks in pastoral care, vocational pastoral care and priest training, he was coordinator of the diocesan commission for sacred art from 2004 to 2016 . From 2006 to 2012 he was Executive Secretary of the Mexican Bishops' Conference in the field of vocational pastoral care. Most recently he was episcopal vicar for the clergy and pastor of the diocesan shrine Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe .

Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Iulium Carnicum and auxiliary bishop in Yucatán on May 27, 2017 . The Archbishop of Yucatán, Gustavo Rodriguez Vega , donated him episcopal ordination on July 18 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, Archbishop Franco Coppola , and the Bishop Emeritus of Colima , José Luis Amezcua Melgoza .
