The Diocese of Colima ( lat. : Dioecesis Colimensis , span. : Diócesis de Colima ) is in Mexico located Roman Catholic diocese based in Colima .

history

The diocese of Colima was on December 11, 1881 by Pope Leo XIII. built with the papal bull Si principum from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Guadalajara and subordinated to this as a suffragan . On 28 January 1961, the Diocese of Colima were parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Constitution Cristifidelium Utilitati erected Diocese of Autlán from. Another assignment of territory took place on January 13, 1962 to establish the territorial prelature Jesús María del Nayar . The Diocese of Colima announced on April 30, 1962 parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Constitution Quo Aptius erected diocese Apatzingán from. Further assignments of territory took place on March 25, 1972 to found the dioceses Ciudad Guzmán and San Juan de los Lagos, established with the Apostolic Constitution Qui omnium .
