history

The diocese of Ciudad Guzmán was founded on March 25, 1972 by Pope Paul VI. built from cessions of territory by the Archdiocese of Guadalajara and the Diocese of Colima . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Guadalajara as a suffragan .
