Leonardo Viera Contreras (born January 18, 1907 in Tuxpan , Jalisco , Mexico , † December 2, 1977 in Ciudad Guzmán ) was Bishop of Ciudad Guzmán .

Life

Leonardo Viera Contreras received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Colima on May 30, 1931 .

On July 25, 1967, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Colima. The Archbishop of Guadalajara , José Cardinal Garibi y Rivera , donated him episcopal ordination on September 8 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Coadjutor Archbishop of Guadalajara, Francisco Javier Nuño y Guerrero , and the Bishop Emeritus of Colima, Ignacio de Alba y Hernández . Paul VI appointed him on March 25, 1972. to the Bishop of Cuernavaca. The inauguration took place on June 30 of the same year.

On July 7, 1977, Leonardo Viera Contreras resigned as Bishop of Ciudad Guzmán.
