Francisco Javier Nuño y Guerrero (born December 3, 1905 in Guadalajara , Mexico , † December 1, 1983 ) was Bishop of San Juan de los Lagos .

Life

Francisco Javier Nuño y Guerrero received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Guadalajara on April 7, 1928 .

On July 10, 1951, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Syedra and ordered him to Coadjutor Bishop of Zacatecas . The Archbishop of Guadalajara, José Garibi y Rivera , donated him episcopal ordination on August 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the retired Archbishop of Monterrey , José Guadalupe Ortíz y López , and the Bishop of Colima , Ignacio de Alba y Hernández . Francisco Javier Nuño y Guerrero became Bishop of Zacatecas on December 5, 1951, succeeding the late Ignacio Placencia y Moreira . On December 18, 1954, Pius XII appointed him. Titular Archbishop of Garella and appointed him Coadjutor Archbishop of Guadalajara. The inauguration took place on April 10, 1955. On March 25, 1972, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the first bishop of San Juan de los Lagos. The inauguration took place on June 29 of the same year.

On January 10, 1981, Pope John Paul II accepted Francisco Javier Nuño y Guerrero's resignation due to reasons of age.
