György Bakcsi 1982

György Bakcsi , actually György Bartók , (born April 6, 1933 in Budapest ; † October 11, 2019 ) was a Hungarian chess composer .

Chess composition

Since 1948 György Bakcsi has published over 1200 chess problems, mainly two and three-move self-mates. 800 received awards, including 125 first prizes. He was Hungary's eighteen-time champion, mainly in the composition of two-move and three-move. Bakcsi was a representative of the Strategic School and preferred astute, paradoxical ideas.

In 1956 Bakcsi was appointed International Chess Composition Referee . In 1980 he was awarded the title of Grand Master for Chess Composition .

Bakcsi was a journalist. From 1976 to 1985 he was the editor of the section for chess problems in Sakkélet . He has written several Hungarian books on chess composition.
