Toma Garai
Toma Garai (born May 27, 1935 in Arad , Transylvania , Romania ; † January 30, 2011 in Los Angeles ) was an American chess composer of Hungarian origin who grew up in Transylvania. In the United States he lived in Van Nuys , a borough of Los Angeles, under the name Thomas C. Garai .
Since 1987 he has been the international judge for chess composition for Hilfsmatt . In 1996 the PCCC awarded him the title of Grand Master of Chess Composition .
