Yevgeny Bogdanov

Yevgeny Michailowitsch Bogdanow ( Ukrainian Євгеній Михайлович Богданов ; born February 27, 1952 in Lviv , † October 30, 2010 in Lviv) was a Ukrainian chess composer .

He began composing chess problems in 1967. By 2009 he published more than 6500 problems, mainly two-move, three-move, multi-move , auxiliary mate and self- mate , including over 4000 miniatures. More than 2500 tasks were awarded in tournaments, of which over 1000 with prizes (over 300 first prizes).

From 1970 he was a judge of more than 60 international tournaments. He has authored a number of tasks and topics, as well as books and articles on chess composition. From the 2000s until his death, Bogdanow was the editor of the magazine Chess Leopolis , which appeared as a PDF file on the Internet and in print.

In 1989 he received the title of International Master in Chess Composition . In 2012 he was posthumously appointed Grand Master of Chess Composition .
