Valery Michailowitsch Schawyrin ( Russian Валерий Михайлович Шавырин ; born January 27, 1953 in Sukhoi Log , Sverdlovsk Oblast ) is a Russian chess composer and engineer of mechanics .

When he was 15 years old, he began to be interested in chess composition. He prefers three and four-trainers. In 2007 he was awarded the title of Grand Master for Chess Composition .
