White to move forces a draw

Template: checkerboard / maintenance / new

Solution:

1. Kb4 – b5! Sb7-d8 After the first ... Be6-c8 2. LE5-b8 a7-a5 3. Lb8-c7 Bc8-d7 + 4. KB5-a6 a5-a4 5. Ka6xb7 is the position because of the opposite colored bishop unwinnable.
2. Be5 – b8! Be6 – d7 + After 2. Kb5 – a6? Be6 – c4 + wins the knight fork Nd8 – c6 + piece and game, because bishop and knight checkmate .
3. Kb5 – a6 Bd7 – c8 + After 3.… Nd8 – c6 4. Bb8xa7 Bd7 – c8 + 5. Ka6 – b5! (but not 5. Ka6 – b6? because then after Ke8 – d7 the white bishop is lost due to pressure to move ) Nc6xa7 + Kb5 – b6 the knight is caught .
4. Ka6xa7 Nd8 – c6 +
5. Ka7 – b6! Nc6xb8 After 5. Ka7 – a8? death would come on the white squares: Bc8 – a6, Ke8 – d7 – c8 and Ba6 – b7 mate
6. Kb6 – c7 the king's fork leads to a loss of pieces - a draw.
