Alexander Fjodorowitsch Feoktistow ( Russian Александр Фёдорович Феоктистов ; born February 28, 1948 in Kaschira ) is a Russian chess composer and engineer. He works as a programmer for the railroad.

Chess composition

Since 1966 Feoktistow published over 300 chess problems of all genres. He was several times master of the USSR and Russia in various departments. Several times he was in the team of the USSR and Russia's world champion in chess composition.

In 1994 Feoktistow was appointed International Arbiter for Chess Composition . In 2007 he became the Grand Master of Chess Composition . Feoktistov values ​​the beauty of geometric motifs more than strategic maneuvers.
