Solution:
The main variant contains a allumwandlung :
1. h7-H8D + double attack Dd4-xh8 (? 1 h7-H8T + is not enough because Kf8-e7 along with speedy Matt .)
2. g6-g7 + fork Dh8xg7
3. h6xg7 + Kf8-e7
. 4 a6 – a7 Bc4 – a6 + 4.… Bc4 – d5 5. g7 – g8D Bd5xg8 6. a7 – a8D Nd7xb6 + 7. Kc8 – b7 Nb6xa8 8. Kb7xa8 Bg8 – e6 6. Ka8 – b8 and Black must give a piece for the pawn .
5. b6 – b7 Nc3 – e4 5.… Nc3 – b5 (threatens 6. Nb5 – d6 mate) is answered with 6. g7 – g8N + Ke7 – e8 7. Ng8 – f6 +, because Nd7xf6 loses because of 8. a7 – a8D.
6. g7 – g8S +! Ke7 – e8
7. Ng8 – f6 + Ne4xf6 Now 8. a7 – a8D Nf6 – d5 and Nd5 – e7 lose mate.
8. a7 – a8L! Nd7 – e5 8.… Nf6 – d5 stalemate.
9. Kc8 – b8 Ne5 – c6 +
10. Kb8 – c8 Ba6 – f1 11. b7 – b8D? becomes mate after Bf1 – a6 + 12. Qb8 – b7 Nf6 – e4 13. Qb7xa6 Ne4 – d6 #. 11. b7 – b8S is no better: Nc6 – e7 + 12. Kc8 – b7 Bf1 – g2 + 13. Kb7 – a7 (13. Nb8 – c6 Bg2xc6 + 11. Kb7 – a7 Bc6 – d7) Ne7 – c8 + 14. Ka7 – a6 Bg2xa8 .
11. b7 – b8T! Bf1-a6 +
