Gerd Zimmermann (born October 9, 1947 in Hockenheim ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After elementary school in Altlußheim , Gerd Zimmermann completed an apprenticeship in high-level administration and attended an administration and business academy . Until 1977 he worked for the city administration of Walldorf . Since 2002 he has been the managing director of a company for municipal services . Zimmermann is married and has two children.

politics

From 1978 to 2002 Zimmermann was mayor of Bad Rappenau . In 1988 he was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , of which he was a member until 2001. He was not re-elected in the 2001 mayoral election in Bad Rappenau; Hans Heribert Blättgen was his successor. Zimmermann represented constituency 19 (Eppingen) and was the police spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group. In addition, he belonged to the district council of the Heilbronn district and was a member of the association assembly of the Heilbronn-Franconia region .
