Benno Schulthess

Benno Schulthess (born February 27, 1938 in Zurich ; † November 3, 2014 there ; entitled to live in Zurich and Hüttwilen ) was a Swiss painter , graphic artist and sculptor .

He grew up in Nussbaumen in Thurgau and studied law . After two decades as a business lawyer, he changed his profession and became a freelance artist. In 1998, he won the Swiss “Artist of the Year” award, among other awards .

His works include oil paintings , watercolors , drawings, copper prints , lithographs , serigraphs , and sculptures made of bronze, wood, steel and glass. He illustrated books and participated in numerous exhibitions.

Schulthess lived in Widen , Canton Aargau , and in Brissago , Ticino .
