Gilberto Valbuena Sánchez (born February 4, 1929 in Chietla ) is Bishop Emeritus of Colima .

Life

Gilberto Valbuena Sánchez was ordained a priest on May 21, 1955 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 9, 1972 titular Bishop of Vazari-Didda and Apostolic Prefect of La Paz en la Baja California Sur . The episcopal ordination donated him the Bishop of Tacámbaro José Abraham Martínez Betancourt on February 8, 1973; Co- consecrators were Estanislao Alcaraz y Figueroa , Archbishop of Morelia and Rosendo Huesca Pacheco , auxiliary bishop in Puebla de los Ángeles, Puebla

With the elevation to the Apostolic Vicariate on March 1, 1976 he became the first Apostolic Vicar of La Paz en la Baja California Sur and with the elevation to the diocese on March 21, 1988 he was appointed the first Bishop of La Paz en la Baja California Sur . On July 8, 1989, he was appointed Bishop of Colima .

On June 9, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
