Maurice "Moe" José Harkless (born May 11, 1993 in New York City , New York ) is an American - Puerto Rican basketball player who is currently under contract with the New York Knicks in the NBA .

Career

college

Harkless played for a year at St. John's University in his native New York. For the Red Storm, he scored 15.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game in his first and only year. Because of this achievement, he was named Big East Conference Men's Rookie of the Year .

NBA

In the 2012 NBA Draft , Harkless was selected 15th by the Philadelphia 76ers . On August 10, 2012, he was transferred to the Orlando Magic together with Nikola Vucevic in a four-team swap . In return, Dwight Howard moved to the Los Angeles Lakers , Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets and Andrew Bynum to the Sixers. In his first year for the Magic, Harkless scored 8.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

In the summer of 2015, he moved to the Portland Trail Blazers . In the summer of 2019, Harkless was transferred from the Blazers to the Los Angeles Clippers as part of a trade . During the 2019/20 season he was handed over to the New York Knicks as part of a 3-team change for Marcus Morris .
