Bol Manute Bol (born November 16, 1999 in Khartoum ) is an American basketball player of Sudanese descent.
career
Bol came to the United States at the age of two, growing up first in the state of Connecticut , then in Kansas , and played basketball at Bishop Miege High School until 2016. During the 2016/17 season he strengthened the team at the Mater Dei High School in California and scored 16.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.9 blocked throws per encounter. After a year in California, Bol moved to the Findlay College Prep team in Nevada . There he posted averages of 20.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per use in the 2017/18 season. In November 2017, he published his decision to move to the University of Oregon the following year . The inside player had also considered offers from the University of Kentucky , the University of Arizona and the University of Southern California . His time at the University of Oregon was marked by a foot injury that he sustained in December 2018, which is why he only played nine missions for the team, in which he averaged 21 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks. At the end of March 2019, he announced the end of his university career to switch to the professional camp and participate in the NBA draft process . He was selected there by the Miami Heat (second round, 44th place), but handed over to the Denver Nuggets that same evening . In September 2019, he was awarded a contract by Denver.
National team
In 2017 he took part in a training camp for the US U19 national team. In spring 2018, Bol played for the United States at the Nike Hoop Summit talent show .
