Miles Christian Plumlee (born September 1, 1988 in Fort Wayne , Indiana ) is an American basketball player who is currently under contract with the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA .

Career

Plumlee played three years in the NCAA for Duke University , with whom he won the 2010 NCAA Division I Basketball Championship . In the 2012 NBA draft he was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in 26th place. However, he played much of his rookie season with the Pacers farm team , the Fort Wayne Mad Ants . For the Pacers he only played 14 games, scoring 0.9 points and 1.6 rebounds.

In summer 2013 he and Gerald Green were transferred to the Phoenix Suns for Luis Scola . With the Suns he immediately got the role of the starting center and improved his statistics significantly. In the end, he was able to record 8.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. He also took part in the BBVA Rising Challenge as a replacement for Pero Antić .

In February 2015, he was transferred to the Milwaukee Bucks . After two and a half years, Plumlee was handed over to the Charlotte Hornets . On June 21, 2017, Plumlee was transferred to the Atlanta Hawks together with Marco Belinelli against Dwight Howard .

Miles has two brothers who are also basketball players. Mason was selected by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2013 NBA Draft . His youngest brother Marshall also plays for Duke University .
