history

The club was founded in 1987 and acquired the rights from Dribling Madrid to play the second division . For the 1989/90 season they were promoted to the ACB league, from which the Seville team has not been relegated since. Although no title has yet been won, the team established itself as one of the strongest in the league, especially from the mid to late 1990s. Both 1995/96 and 1998/99 they reached the final playoff for the Spanish championship, but failed both times at FC Barcelona . Also in 1998/99 the team reached the final of the Spanish Cup , where they lost to TAU Cerámica with 61:70. Internationally, the club took part in the Korać Cup in 1993/94 and 1994/95. Both in 1996/97 and 1999/2000 CDB Sevilla started as Caja San Fernando in the Euroleague , the highest club competition on the continent. In the 2000/01 season the team reached the round of 16 in the Saporta Cup , as well as in the round of the last 16 they failed in the EuroChallenge 2008/09. The greatest success so far on the international stage came at the Eurocup 2010/11 ; after victories in the final round against Budiwelnik Kiev and Benetton Treviso , CDB Sevilla only failed in the final with 77:92 to UNICS Kazan .
