career

Clay Tucker played from 1998 to 2003 for the Milwaukee Panthers , the basketball team of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee , in the NCAA's Horizon League . In 2003 he moved to Europe for the first time, to the Swedish Sundsvall Dragons , but before the end of the season he returned to his homeland, where he was active in various minor leagues until March 2005 . At the end of the season of the Greek A1 Ethniki 2004/05 he had an engagement with MENT BC , but could not prevent relegation. From 2005 to 2007 Tucker played in the NBA D-League for the Arkansas RimRockers before he moved to Europe again in April 2007, where he was active at the end of the season for the French champions Le Mans Sarthe Basket, who, however, could not defend his title. This time Tucker stayed in Europe and played in the 2007/08 season in the Lega Basket Serie A for the Italian first division club from Teramo . But even here he did not stay until the end of the season, but moved to Russia in January 2008, where he was national cup winner and runner-up behind series champion PBK ZSKA Moscow with the club from Khimki . In the 2008/09 season, Tucker first played for the Ukrainian runners-up from Kiev , but he only stayed here until February 2009.

In February 2009 Tucker moved to Spain to Cajasol from Seville in the ACB league , in which he was named "Player of the Week" as the most effective player on matchday 28 . Here he helped the team to stay up, especially with his good three-point rate of over 40% from a distance. After a season at DKV Joventut from Badalona , which, however, missed the play-offs for the championship, Tucker moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2010 . While they reached the " Final Four " tournament in the highest European club competition ULEB Euroleague 2010/11 , but lost both games there, Real, being runner-up in the main round of the 2010/11 season, once again missed entry into the final series for the national championship. After the end of the season, his contract was not renewed and Tucker returned to Italy to join Acea Roma . The Romans missed the play-offs for the Italian championship again and Tucker returned to the ACB league in Spain, where he signed a contract for the club from Valencia in July 2012. The contract with Tucker was canceled before the start of the season.

It was only in early February 2013 that Tucker had his "comeback" and signed a contract with Hacettepe Üniversitesi in the Türkiye Basketbol Ligi for the rest of the season, which he could not save from relegation at the end of the season as penultimate. However, Tucker stayed in Turkey and got a contract for the 2013/14 season with TED Kolejliler from the capital Ankara , who got a place in the second most important European club competition Eurocup 2013/14 .
