The Liga Española de Baloncesto (LEB) is currently the 2nd Spanish basketball league , below the ACB league .

The name Liga Española de Baloncesto or Primera División was already used by the first division, which was held as a round- robin tournament from 1957 to 1983 under the patronage of the Spanish basketball association FEB . After the re-establishment of the league association ACB , which was created as a merger of professional clubs and which took over the organization of the first division independently from 1983, the name Primera División was transferred to the second division, which was still managed by the FEB. In 1996, the Spanish league system was revised and the name was changed to Liga Española de Baloncesto or LEB for short . Since the 2007/08 season, the second division, which currently consists of 18 teams, has been sponsored by the Adecco LEB Oro , while the third is called Adecco LEB Plata .
