Club Melilla Baloncesto is a Spanish basketball club from Melilla . He has played in the second Spanish basketball league without interruption since it was founded.
history
The club was founded in 1991 and started in the second highest Spanish basketball league. In the first few years, the club always fought against relegation, but that changed until the end of the 1990s. During this time, the play-offs for promotion to the ACB league were regularly achieved. The furthest one came here in the 1998/99 season, when Melilla reached the semi-final series, which was decisive for promotion, but lost it to CB Breogán . Shortly before, they won the second division cup, the Copa Principe de Asturias , which the team won again in 2001. Between 2003 and 2008, the club no longer reached the play-offs.
In the 2008/09 season, the team came to the second time after 1999 in the last four in the play-offs. The mode, which has now changed, provided for a final four for promotion, the winner of which rose. While the semi-final was just won against Tenerife CB , the team lost the decisive game against CB Lucentum Alicante 66:72. The following year, the Copa Prinicipe de Asturias was won a third time.
