CB Ciudad de Huelva was a Spanish basketball club from Huelva .
history
The association was founded in 1996. He started in the newly founded second Spanish basketball league, the Liga Española de Baloncesto . At the end of the season, Huelva rose to the ACB league . Hardly arrived in this one rose as table 17. straight off again. From now on, the club established itself in the second division without being in serious danger of being relegated, but also with no real chance of a renewed promotion to League 1. In the 2004/05 season, the team reached the semi-finals of the play-offs the climb. A win would have meant promotion, but Baloncesto Fuenlabrada won the close series 3-2. Two years later, the team made it to the quarter-finals again, this time Bàsquet Manresa was too strong for Ciudad.
Even before the 2007/08 season, the club had immense financial difficulties. These got worse as the season progressed, so the club had to give away players to get them off the payroll. At the end of the season, Ciudad only had six players under contract and was still twelfth. However, the accumulated debts were too high to maintain gaming operations. Ciudad de Huelva disbanded in July 2008.
With Club Baloncesto Huelva la Luz there is a new basketball club in Huelva since the end of 2008.
