Darius Jermaine Hall (born March 16, 1973 in Detroit , Michigan ) is a retired American basketball player .

Hall is 202 cm tall and weighed 120 kg during his career. Despite his relatively small height for this position, he played on the position of the center .

Darius Hall is married and has one daughter.

career

Hall played at Western Kentucky University from 1991 to 1995 . After working in Spain, France and Belgium, he moved to the Artland Dragons in Quakenbrück in 2004 .

In 2007, the Lower Saxony reached the final of the BBL with Hall as team captain in the preliminary round , where they were subject to the Brose Baskets Bamberg . Also in 2007 he and Quakenbrück reached the final tournament of the BBL Cup in Hamburg . There they advanced in the semifinals after Hall's decisive points into the final, where the team, however, had to admit defeat to Rheinenergie Köln (name changed after the season in Cologne 99ers ). In the 2007/2008 season, Hall won the German Cup with the Artland Dragons . In the cup final in Hamburg, the Artland Dragons defeated EnBW Ludwigsburg with 74:60 (32:30). In 2007 Hall was voted the most popular Bundesliga player ( Most Likeable Player ) with 31.7 percent of the votes cast . Furthermore, Hall was in the starting line-up of the North selection at Allstar Day 2007. He received 13.04% of the votes. He was also invited to the event in 2009 after receiving 16.10% of the votes cast. However, Hall was unable to attend due to a broken hand. In Quakenbrück, Hall was the favorite of the supporters.

From the 2010/2011 season, Hall played for FC Bayern Munich , with whom he was promoted from the ProA to the basketball Bundesliga at the end of his first season . After a Bundesliga season with Munich, in which he was only used sporadically at the age of 38, he ended his career in the summer of 2012. In total, he played 218 Bundesliga. Hall achieved his best points average in the league in the 2004/05 season (12.4 / game). According to a statement made in 2008, according to Hall, between 15 and 20 baskets were damaged by dunking the American, who is known for his powerful style of play.

Success in Europe

Darius Hall took part in the French Allstar Game in 1999. The Artland Dragons played in 2007 for the first time in the international ULEB-Cup competition , later the Eurocup. They were the only German team to advance to the round of 16 that year.
