Baloncesto Fuenlabrada , also known under the sponsor name Montakit Fuenlabrada , is a Spanish basketball club from the city of Fuenlabrada in the autonomous community of Madrid . The first team plays in the Spanish ACB league . The home games are played in the Polideportivo Fernando Martín , which can hold around 5,100 spectators .
history
Baloncesto Fuenlabrada was founded in 1983 as PMD Fuenlabrada. After several years in lower-class divisions, he was promoted to the second division in the 1992/93 season through the merger with CB Torrejón de Ardoz . By acquiring the starting place of Club Peñas Recreativas Huesca in 1996, the club entered the ACB league for the first time , where they established themselves permanently except for two relegations and immediate relocations in the 1997/98 and 2004/05 seasons. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada made its international debut in the Korać Cup in the 1999/2000 season, a competition in which the club reached the quarter-finals in 2001/02. Further appearances on the European stage were the ULEB Cup 2002/03 and the EuroChallenge 2011/12, where they also reached the quarter-finals.
