career

The 2.01 meter tall Marko Tomas began his career in his hometown, in the youth of KK Radnik - Križevci , and moved early to the state capital to KK Zagreb. In 2001, when he was only 16, he made his debut in the first squad. Attention was finally drawn to him in the 2004/05 season, when he reached an average of 19.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in the Adriatic League . In the summer of 2005 he was signed by Real Madrid, which was then coached by Božidar Maljković , where he stood out as a strong defensive player, but could not build on his performance in Croatia offensively. He celebrated his first title in the 2006/07 season when he won the ULEB Cup and the championship with the Spanish . In order to give the young Croatians more match practice, Real Madrid decided in 2007 to loan him to the Spanish first division club Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada for a year. Because of his good performance, he then returned to the capital city. In summer 2009 Tomas moved back to his homeland, to Cibona Zagreb. In the summer of 2010 he moved to the traditional club Fenerbahce Ülker and signed for two years. In summer 2012 he moved to Cedevita Zagreb.
