Andrew "Andy" Panko (born November 29, 1977 in Harrisburg , Pennsylvania ) is an American basketball player .

Career

Panko began his professional career in 1999 with the New Mexico Slam in the IBL, where he played until the league was dissolved in 2001. He moved to Europe for the first time in 2001 via the Atlanta Hawks and signed a one-year contract with the Italian first division club Basket Napoli . Between 2002 and 2007 Panko changed clubs and leagues several times. His greatest success during this period was the 2003 Puerto Rico championship he won with Gigantes de Carolina . In 2007 he moved to San Sebastián Gipuzkoa BC, his now fourth station in the Spanish ACB league . He had his best season in San Sebastian in 2011/2012 when he reached the quarter-finals of the Spanish championship with the club and was elected MVP and the All-Spanish ACB League team in the same year. He also finished the season as the most successful point scorer. In 2012 Panko was under contract with the Greek club Panathinaikos Athens .
