International Basketball League

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

International Basketball League (IBL) is the name of professional basketball leagues that, with a few exceptions, consisted or consist of North American clubs:

  • International Basketball League (1999-2001) : This league was closely linked to the Continental Basketball Association . The purchase of rights for the CBA, which went bankrupt in 2001, by the CBA and IBL clubs led to the final merger of these two leagues. Game operations continued under the name of the CBA and the IBL was discontinued.
  • International Basketball League (since 2004) : This league is a minor league founded in 2004 . Originally conceived as a summer league that runs from March to July, the league has also been running a season in winter from November to January since 2010.
