The Mont Bessou is a mountain of the French Massif Central and, with its 977 meters the highest peak of the Correze department of the whole or Région Limousin . The observation tower built in 2005 symbolically increased its height to over 1000 meters.
geography
Located in the southwestern part of the Plateau de Millevaches approx. 5 kilometers north of Meymac, the Mont Bessou towers over the plateau with over 250 meters. It is thus also part of the Millevaches Regional Nature Park in the Limousin . The next larger cities are about 60 kilometers southwest of Tulle and about 20 kilometers east of Ussel .
particularities
On the summit, next to the Douglas fir observation tower, there is also a 200-meter-high television tower and two themed paths for walkers on the subjects of "granite" and "mushrooms".
