From 2003 to 2007, Wood played for College Team Raiders in the NCAA for four years while studying at Wright State University . At the beginning of his studies he changed his last name Lynch to that of his biological father and was named DaShaun Wood in 2007 as "Player of the Year" of the Horizon League in the NCAA. Having not for the doped highest professional league NBA was selected, he went as a professional to Europe and played for Pallacanestro Cantu and Benetton Treviso in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A . In the 2009/10 season he was not under contract with any professional club because of the recovery from a cruciate ligament tear . After winning the Beko BBL Cup in 2013 in front of their home crowd, however, the Berliners were eliminated again early in the first round of the play-offs.

After his contract in Berlin expired, Wood joined the French club Le Mans Sarthe Basket in the LNB Pro A for the 2013/14 season . After one season he moved to Turkey to Tofaş SK Bursa , where he was also only active for one year.
