Chuck Eidson (* 10. October 1980 in Summerville , South Carolina as Charles Patrick Eidson ) is an American former professional basketball player . He ended his career in 2014 after he last went basket-hunting for UNICS Kazan in the Eastern European Union League VTB .

Career

The 2.01 m tall and 94 kg heavy small forward played from 1999 to 2003 for the University of South Carolina and then a season in the lower class NBA D-League for the Charleston Lowgators . He then moved to Germany, where he was active for the Gießen 46ers for two years and was voted the most valuable player in the BBL in 2005 .

During the pre-season preparation for the 2005/2006 season , Eidson suffered a torn cruciate ligament and ankle ligament and was out for almost the entire season as a result.

Nevertheless, from 2006 onwards he was hired by SIG Strasbourg for one year, where he was able to take part in a European competition for the first time .

Since 2007 he played for BC Lietuvos Rytas in the Baltic Basketball League . With an average of 10.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists with an operating time of around 20 minutes per game, the all-rounder advanced to become a pillar of the team in defending the Baltic championship trophy in Vilnius . On July 13th 2009 Chuck Eidson signed for 2 years with the European top club Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv in Israel. After 2 successful years in Israel, Chuck Eidson signed a contract worth 4 million euros on June 4, 2011 with the Spanish top team FC Barcelona .

Personal

Chuck Eidson has been married to his wife Samantha since 2005 and has twins. His father, Pat Eidson, is a successful youth coach in US high school basketball.
