The Baltic Basketball League is a basketball league from the Baltic states of Estonia , Latvia and Lithuania . In addition, the team BK Barsy Atyrau from Kazakhstan is currently taking part, which plays all of its games away from home. The BBL was founded in 2004 based on the model of the Adria League . Teams from Sweden, Finland and Russia have also participated in recent years.
Game mode
In the current game mode for the 2015/16 season, 14 teams in two groups will play each against each other in one round. The five best in each group and the better sixth placed qualify for the play-off round of 16. In addition, there are five teams in the play-offs that previously took part in European competitions such as the FIBA Europe Cup .
