The BK Barons is a basketball club from Latvia . He currently (2012/13) plays in the Baltic Basketball League and the Latvian Basketball League (LBL) .

history
Founded in 1991 under the name “Princips”, the club was one of the founders of the Latvian Basketball League. In the first years the club, now under the name LainERS, was one of the top 4 in Latvia without winning a title. In the 90s, the club achieved its greatest success in the 1998/99 season when they reached the semi-finals of the Latvian play-offs, where they were eliminated against "RBS-Skals". A few years of mediocrity in the Latvian league followed. The club had its heyday in 2004-2010. During this time the LBL reached at least the semifinals every year. The championship was won in 2008 and 2010. Also in 2008 the final of the EuroChallenge was won against Dexia Mons-Hainaut .
