William Frederick "Will" Cummings (born October 7,  1992 in Jacksonville , Florida ) is an American basketball player .

career

The Floridian played as a teenager at the Providence School of Jacksonville and began studying at Temple University in Philadelphia ( Pennsylvania ) in 2011 . By 2015 he played 120 missions for Temple and was 98 times in the starting line-up. Cummings came up with averages of 10.4 points, 3 assists and 2.8 rebounds per encounter. In 2015 he was elected to the first team of the All- American-Athletic-Conference .

He took part in trial training sessions with NBA teams in early summer 2015, and was signed by the Houston Rockets in June 2015 , but was removed from the squad before the start of the 2015/16 season. From then on, Cummings strengthened the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA Training League ( D-League ) and scored top values ​​for the team in the course of the 2015/16 season with 20.5 points, 4.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds per encounter. In recognition of his performance, he was elected to the All-Star Team of the Western Conference as well as the All-NBA D-League Second Team and All-Rookie Team. At the end of the season he played briefly for the Italian first division club Aquila Basket Trento .

In the 2016/17 season he triumphed in the colors of Aris Thessaloniki , with whom he reached the semi-finals of the Greek first division and also competed in the Champions League . In the European Cup competition, the playmaker scored 14.7 points per game and, statistically speaking, prepared 3.1 basket hits for his side men. In the Greek league he also got 14.7 points per use. During his year in Turkey, Cummings achieved an average of 9.2 points and 1.8 templates in 28 main round games for Darüşşafaka SK Istanbul . At the European level, he was used in 22 matches for Darüşşafaka, scored 9 points per game and won the EuroCup club competition with the team .

Cummings was  announced as a new addition by Bundesliga club EWE Baskets Oldenburg in July 2018 . In the 2018/19 season, he made an impact at Lower Saxony and impressed in 37 Bundesliga matches with an average of 21.3 points. In addition, he did the preparatory work for 4.3 basket hits by teammates per game. Cummings advanced to the semi-finals with Oldenburg, where they were eliminated by Alba Berlin . He was appointed as a player in the BBL All-Star Game and was recognized as the most valuable player and part of the Bundesliga All-First team . During the 2019 summer break, Cummings used a clause in his contract to end his employment with the Oldenburg team and start a new sporting task. He found this with the Russian team Lokomotiv Kuban .
