Malcolm Hakeem Delaney (born March 11, 1989 in Baltimore , Maryland ) is an American basketball player .
Career
The 1.91 m tall combo guard Delaney played for the Virginia Tech University college team . In his last two years of college he was elected to the All- ACC First Team , but was not selected by any team in the subsequent 2011 NBA Draft . Therefore, Delaney went to Europe in the summer of 2011 and joined the French first division club Élan Sportif Chalonnais , with whom he won the national double from the championship and the cup in the 2011/12 season . For the 2012/13 season Delaney moved to the Ukrainian first division club BK Budiwelnyk Kiev and also won the national championship there. He was also named Player of the Year in the Ukrainian League and voted into the All- Eurocup First Team .
In the summer of 2013 Delaney signed a contract with the German Bundesliga club FC Bayern Munich . At the end of the season he won the German championship with Bayern and was named Bundesliga player of the year as well as the best player in the Bundesliga final series. After Delaney had not extended his expiring contract with FC Bayern, he moved to the Russian first division club Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar for the 2014/15 season . For the 2016/2017 season Delaney went to the NBA to the Atlanta Hawks . He played 127 NBA games for Atlanta by 2018, achieving averages of 5.7 points and 2.8 basket assists.
In the 2018/19 season, Delaney played for the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the People's Republic of China and in 2019/20 for FC Barcelona in Spain. At the beginning of June 2020, AX Armani Exchange Milan announced its commitment.
