Jerry Green (born February 12, 1980 in Pomona , California ) is an American basketball player . During his active time he weighed 87 kg with a height of 190 cm. He played in the basketball league for EnBW Ludwigsburg and the Central German BC . He played a total of 194 Bundesliga games. While he was mostly used as a shooting guard in college , he increasingly took on the playmaker position as a professional basketball player .

Career

From 1998 to 2002 Green played for the University of California at Irvine (UC Irvine) in the NCAA . He played 116 games for the university team and had averages of 17.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.6 basket assists. In all four years he led UC Irvine as top scorer and assists. He recorded his highest point yield in his final season 2001/02 when he scored 20.3 points per encounter. With a total of 1993 in four years, he sat at the top of the eternal basket hunter list of the University of California at Irvine.

In the NBA Draft , he was not selected by any team. Then, after four successful college years, he moved to Mitteldeutscher BC in the German Bundesliga, where he delivered an average of 16.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in his first season in the BBL .

After a year there, Green moved to the Polish club Czarni Słupsk. EnBW Ludwigsburg became aware of him through his achievements and signed him in 2004. He was instrumental in ensuring that Ludwigsburg regularly reached the Bundesliga finals in the following years. The reward for his achievements, which led Ludwigsburg to the top flight of the BBL, was the award as the best player of the 2006/07 Bundesliga season. In the 2006/07 game he achieved the highest point average of his time in Ludwigsburg, when he recorded 16.1 points per encounter.

At the end of the 2006/07 season, however, he left Ludwigsburg and signed a contract with the Belgian top team Telindus Ostend. In the 08/09 season he then played for Solsonica Rieti, an Italian first division club.

Green returned to EnBW Ludwigsburg for the 2010/2011 season. He received a three-year contract there and should help lead the club back into the play-offs. But in the summer of 2012 there was a break with the association, from the point of view of the association due to very poor medical examinations. But above all Green's advisor Ben Pansack saw in the grounds of the Ludwigsburg “an attempt to free the club from its obligation to pay Green.” After the threat of a lawsuit, both parties agreed amicably.
