Jamel McLean (born April 18, 1988 in New York City , New York ) is an American basketball player .

Career

Until 2011, McLean played at college in the USA and ran for Xavier University .

After graduating, McLean moved to Europe and spent his first season as a professional in Belgium with the Leuven Bears . For the 2012/13 season McLean first moved to Italy and ran for second division Givova Scafati , but after a few weeks McLean moved back to Belgium and received a fixed-term contract with BC Ostend .

After his contract expired at the end of 2012, McLean did not receive a new contract in Belgium and moved to Germany to Telekom Baskets Bonn in January 2013 . There he received a contract until the end of the season. In his first home game for Telekom Baskets Bonn, McLean suffered a broken nose and had to sit out a game as a result. After a special mask was made for him, he was able to become active again. During the summer break of 2013, McLean signed a new contract with Telekom Baskets Bonn until summer 2014. McLean attracted the attention of many clubs from home and abroad through his good performance in the Bonn Baskets team.

For the 2014/15 season , McLean then left Bonn and moved within Germany to cup winner Alba Berlin . McLean averaged 14.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game that season and was named a main round MVP .

The following season McLean moved to the Italian Seria A to EA7 Emporio Armani Milan . With Milan, McLean was Italian champion and cup winner in the 2015/16 season . In the summer of 2017, his move to Olympiacos was confirmed.
