Aquila Basket Trento is an Italian basketball club from Trento , in the Serie A play.
history
The club was founded in 1995 from the merger of the two clubs Dolomiti Sport BC Trento and Pallacanestro Villazzano , both of which played in the Serie D amateur class.
Within 12 years he was promoted from the amateur class to the professional class Legadue . In the first professional season 2012-13 you won the Legadue cup competition. In the second season 2013-14 they reached first place in regular time and rose to Serie A after winning the play-offs .
In the first season in Serie A 2014-15 , Trento reached 4th place after regular time and was eliminated in the play-offs in the quarter-finals against eventual champions Sassari , but qualified for the Eurocup 2015/16 . In addition, the Fair Play Prize of Serie A, the Coppa Disciplina was won and trainer Maurizio Buscaglia was awarded as the best trainer and Toni Mitchell as MVP of Serie A.
In the second season 2015-16 , the play-offs were reached again after 8th place in regular time, but they were eliminated in the play-offs again in the quarter-finals against eventual champions Milan . In the Eurocup they made it to the semi-finals, but narrowly failed at Strasbourg in both the first leg in Trento and the second leg in Strasbourg. In the second season, Trento also achieved first place in the fair play rating of Serie A.
In the third season in Serie A 2016-17 they qualified again after reaching 4th place in regular time for the play-offs. In the quarter-finals, Sassari was eliminated with three wins in a row. In the semifinals they won against Milan in the Best of Seven mode 4 to 1. In the final against Venice they were finally defeated 2 to 4 in six games and in the end reached 2nd place in the Italian championship , thus qualifying for the EuroCup 2017 / 18 .
In the 2017-18 season they reached the play-off final for the second time in a row, which they lost in six games 2 to 4 against Olimpia Milano .
