New Basket Brindisi is an Italian basketball club from Brindisi , which plays in the first Italian Serie A basketball league.

history

The club emerged from the basketball club New Basket Ceglie , founded in 1992 in Ceglie Messapica , which after the dissolution of the Brindisi club Azzurra Brindisi in 2001 played its games in the B2 series in Brindisi. In the 2004/05 season the name was changed to the current name New Basket Brindisi.

In the 2005/06 season they rose to the B1 series and thus the highest amateur class, in which they spent three seasons until 2008 was promoted to the Legadue professional class . In the first season (2008/09) they finished 12th in the Legadue. In the following second season (2009/10) the promotion to Serie A was achieved with 1st place .

But after just one season (2010/11) in Serie A, he was relegated directly to 16th place in the regular season . After a year in the Lega Due, he was promoted to Serie A again in 2012, after finishing 2nd in the preliminary round and winning the playoff final against Pistoia .
