Philip Alexander Scrubb (born November 27, 1992 in Richmond , British Columbia ) is a Canadian basketball player . He is under contract with Limoges CSP .

Club career

Scrubb played basketball at Vancouver College in the province of British Columbia , and between 2010 and 2015 at the Carleton University ( Ottawa ) in the Canadian university league CIS . With Carleton's team, nicknamed "Ravens", Scrubb became champions of the CIS in every five years he played. In 2014 he was named the best male athlete of the CIS across all sports. In 2012, 2013 and 2014 Scrubb received the CIS Player of the Year award.

In 2015 Scrubb became a professional basketball player and moved to the Greek first division club AEK Athens . In January 2016 he joined the German Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt . At the beginning of May 2016 he won the European club competition FIBA ​​Europe Cup with Hessen. The Canadian completely missed the 2016/17 season due to cartilage damage in his knee and returned to the Frankfurt squad for the 2017/18 season.

Scrubb was named the best offensive player in the 2017/18 Bundesliga point round. With an average of 19.6 points per match, he was also the best scorer in the Bundesliga in the 2017/18 point round.

During the summer break of 2018, he left Frankfurt by means of an exit clause contained in his contract and moved to Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia . He stayed there for a year and went to Spanish first division club CB Estudiantes in the summer of 2019 . In 25 appearances in the ACB league , Scrubb achieved 9.4 points per encounter. In mid-June 2020, the Ottawa BlackJacks from the Canadian CEBL announced their commitment and also signed his brother Thomas. In July 2020, the French first division club Limoges CSP Scrubb announced as a new addition.

National team

With the Canadian national team he won bronze at the American Championship in 2015. In 2016 he participated with Canada in the elimination tournament for the Summer Olympic Games, but missed the qualification for the Games in Rio de Janeiro.
