Sanjin Pehlivanović (born August 11, 2001 ) is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian pool player . In 2017 he was U17 world champion in the 9-ball discipline .

Career

At the national junior championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina Pehlivanović was third in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons and second in the 2012/13 season. In March 2012 he took part in a Euro Tour tournament for the first time, the Bosnia & Herzegovina Open 2012 , but retired there without a win. In 2013 he was also eliminated without a win. In August 2014 he became European student champion in the 9-ball discipline with a 7-3 final win against the Dutchman Cyriel Ledoux . A few days later he reached 33rd place at the Slovenian Open, his best ranking on the Euro Tour so far.

In the 2014/15 season, Pehlivanović was the Bosnian-Herzegovinian master of the men in the disciplines 8-ball and 9-ball. At the European Schoolchildren’s Championship in 2015 , he won the 8-ball title with a 6-5 win in the final against Eklent Kaçi . At the U17 World Cup in 2015 , he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against eventual winner Daniel Macioł . In October 2015 he won the Salzburg Open with a 9: 3 final victory against the Austrian Georg Höberl . A month later he reached the Kremlin Cup , after defeating Evgeni Stalew and Andreas Madsen , among others , the semifinals, in which he was defeated by defending champion Ruslan Tschinachow with 8-0.

In the 2015/16 season he managed to successfully defend his two national championship titles from the previous year and also to win the title in 14/1 endlessly . In April 2016 he took part in the men's European championship for the first time . In the 9-ball competition he reached the round of 32 and was defeated by the German Kevin Becker . He won three medals at the 2016 European Schools Championship ; After he had finished third in 14/1, he won the 10-ball and 8-ball titles by winning the final against Wiktor Zieliński from Poland . A few days later he made it into the final round for the first time at the Albanian Open , in his seventh tournament participation on the Euro Tour. There he reached the round of 16 with a 9: 8 win against Mats Schjetne , in which he was defeated by the Poland Konrad Juszczyszyn 2: 9. At the U17 Junior World Championship in 2016 , he won the bronze medal after a semi-final defeat against the Mongolian Enkhbold Temuujin .

In the 2016/17 season, Pehlivanović was Bosnian-Herzegovinian champion in the disciplines of 8-ball and 9-ball for the third time in a row. As in the previous year, he took part in three competitions at the 2017 European Championship and reached the sixteenth finals in 9-ball. In the student-EM 2017 he moved three times in the final, only in 10-ball he was eliminated in the second round against defending champion Ivan Galic from. After he had lost endlessly 40:75 against defending champion Wiktor Zieliński in 14/1, he defeated the Poles in 8-ball (6: 4) and 9-ball (7: 6). While he was victorious in 9-ball for the second time after 2014, he became 8-ball European champion for the third time in a row, making him the first player in the U17 age group to win a European title in three consecutive years . At the Klagenfurt Open 2017 he made it to the finals for the second time on the Euro Tour and made it past the second round for the first time. In the quarterfinals, however, he had to admit defeat to Poland's Mateusz Śniegocki 8: 9. A little later he became U17 world champion in Moscow with a 9-1 final win over Robbie Capito .

Pehlivanović has been playing for the German Bundesliga club BSV Dachau since the 2017/18 season .
